Had some free time so decided to try and finish a couple of projects that I started a while back. First one was to get my external camera,s back in action . I decided a while back that Homevision would have full control of my setup . This meant I had to remove cbus interfaces to Genesis (my alarm system) and also remove camera control from Genesis....Also removed the ir to relay interface that I used for Homevision to control my camera switcher as I am now going to use one of my HV /IO Expanders instead. I already had some of HV I/O Expanders mounted in and plastic 1u case and ready for use . Got myself another plastic 1u case and mounted the camera interface relay boards and some other pcbs as can be seen in the pics above... Top two pics show the overall layout and rear of the housing and the bottom two pics show close ups of some of the kit installed.... The bottom L.H.S pic shows an 8 way relay board which uses dry contacts to select any one of the currently installed cameras or my callerid display. This relay board is connected to Expander 5. The other 2 4 way relay boards are connected to Expander 6...Currently only using 3 of the relays , one to put the camera switcher back into Sequence mode and the other 2 to send start and stop recording signals to my Samsung VCR when required... The bottom right pic shows 3 pcbs . The top one is a iButton reader which is connected to the middle pcb,a modded Expander which just converts the iButton signals to open collector. The Ibutton reader will eventually be a back up for the opening of our electric gate. The bottom pcb is one of Gerrys Sequencer Boards which im considering connecting to an Expander so Homevision can control the Garden lights. Cameras are now back in action and working the iButton and Garden light Sequencer are projects for another day.
