The transmitter circuitry is controlled solely by HomeVision . When HomeVision wants to send a signal to a particular zone it first must send a bcd value out on 3 pins to the FirM Controller to indicate which zone to transmit to . The bcd outputs goe,s directly to an 8 to 1 mux chip and the signal then gets directed out to the appropriate zone rj45 socket via driver transistor. The transmit led (red) will lite up at this time providing a zone splitter is plugged into a Zone Rx Unit or the tx socket above the zone rj45 . All signals to and from Homevision including the ir signal are opto isolated.
I have been using the Firm Controller now for several weeks and so far its performing quite well . Any problems I have had to date were due to my incorrect macro programming in Homevision. The great thing about Zoned reception is it gives you more options , for instance I have programmed a macro in hv that if it receives a power on (cab tv selected) signal it then send ir commands to all kit to turn them off but ONLY if the power on command came from Zone 1.........
I would like to thank Andy Powell firstly for starting the ball rolling with his UKHA_D posts and Secondly for giving me support throughout the development of this project as it would otherwise would have been quite lonely ..... Back to Description
