Microchip Pic Projects
Av Switcher Interface

Some Pics of the AV Switcher Ir + I/O Interface Unit that I made for Andy Powell....
The Interface switches the 8 channel audio and the first 8 channels of video using either a Sony
Sat format ir signals 1 to 8 or 5 digital (hv) outputs....The other 8 channels of video are selected by using either Sony Tv ir codes 1 to 8 or 5 digital (hv) outputs (opto isolated) ..........
A Pic16f628 is used to convert the ir signal or digital data to rs232 serial commands for the switchers... This project is almost finished ..just got to get Homevision to Learn the ir codes and then test them to make sure they work.Of course had some problems which I thought was hardware related and then realised that the watchdog timer was resetting the pic when I disabled interrupts so I could transmit serial commands to the av units....I was refreshing the watchdog timer in the interrupt routine....

Top left pic is of the av units..the left hand board is the 8 channel audio unit and the right hand board is the 16 channel video unit........
Top right pic is of the interface board which is built on veroboard
Bottom left is the front of the interface.to the left is a led holder which the ir led will fit into..looking directly at an ir receiver.....
The green led is valid data received indication which comes on briefly when a correct ir signal is received or the digital data strobe input has been pulsed.........The yellow led is the alive led which flashes on and off to indicate all is ok..........
Bottom right pic is of the rear of the interface....the 3 way connector is for the serial connection between the interface and the av boards...the 6 way connector is for the digital output interface...and the 2.1mm socket is for the 12v dc power in for the inteface......
