Some Updated pics of the my home brew Video and Led Probes .The pic on the top left is the led probe and the top right is the video probe... I did try using the smartlinc probes but had trouble getting them to work. Out of three probes I could only get one to work (maybe something I did ?) so decided to have a go at making my own video probe .
After some advice from another Home Automator I purchased several LM1881 video sync separator chips from RS Components and make up three of the circuits which are quite basic and tried them ..All worked first time and I tried them on my main tv and also two different dvd players with no problems .
The bottom right hand side pic is of my dvd player and my zone 3 Probe Zone Monitor , as can be seen from the pic , probe no 6 is on( the dvd player)....
I can now progress with my Probe Hub which will pass on the status of probes to Homevision...Below is a pdf copy of the probe schematic...
