Finally finished off the HV/FirM enclosure and took some pics...I think its turned out quite reasonable considering all the holes and slots were done by hand by yours truly.. You can see from the top two pics the led extenders that I made to bring both FirM + HV led indication to the front of the enclosure..I used 6mm acrylic clear rod which I had trouble sourcing..Would have preferred to use 5mm if I could have got it as the FirM leds are too close together and in a couple of spots the holes I drilled overlap slightly.. Initially I was going to cover the led extenders with black heatshrink so not to loose any of the led light but had to spray them black because of the FirM leds being so close..Had another problem..the HV cutouts were cut out a little to low so if you look closely at the led extenders you will see that I have actually put a small offset in them so they align with the hv leds..
There were four internal standoffs which had to be removed to mount the boards .
Made a few mistakes doing the project mainly because of rushing it so I can progress with the Probe Hub Project im doing...For instance the led extenders should be as long as possible to stop one led bleeding into the other...
Also when I reinstalled the enclosure I couldnt insert the serial plug into the hv db9 because the wall thickness of the enclosure was too thick (4mm)..so will need to have a look at this ...
