Recently I re roofed the Pergola just outside the backdoor and thought it would be good to be able to listen to some music while relaxing in this area . I had purchased some standard speakers for this project a while back but I recalled someone somewhere mentioning Garden Speakers and thought they might be a nicer solution .

A quick Google and I came across this site which also happened to be located here in Melbourne ...Oz...Gardensound

So I ordered a pair of sandstone speakers and while waiting for them to arrive I installed the wiring for each speaker back to Node 0 .

At Node 0 I have currently a 3 zone amp which I got from Shane Harrison of New Zealand . The 3 Zone Amp is controlled (serially) by Homevision . Some macros were written for the Garden speakers which were connected to Zone 2 of the amp...
The top pics show Left + Right speakers and the bottm pics show both speakers and also the Irrigation Box....

If you look closely at the Irrigation box you will notice some leds.. There,s actually a FirM IR Reciever installed inside the box (glad I installed some cat5 there) . This receiver is connected to Zone 8 of my FirM Controller. So I have modified my ir actions for my bedroom dvd remote which now also controls Zone 2 + 3 of my 3 Zone Amp .
I think the speakers look really nice and sound good as well and im looking forward to warm weather so I can relax and listen to my favourite music.....
